Largely due to the demand from North America, the Columbus Variant is being offered in an extra-long version. This option is available on with the Columbus Variant small and medium sized tents, and offers an additional eight inches of sleeping comfort. See the specifications table at the bottom of the left column for details and prices.

The slim, aerodynamic fiberglass shell of the Columbus Variant is made high quality fiberglass—laid up by hand in the AutoHome factory. The result is a smooth, washable, easily maintained exterior that will last for many years of hard use. Tough and long-lasting, this design appeals for another reason—it is dust and waterproof, and offers minimal air resistance while traveling. Your bedding remains inside the Columbus(protected from dust and weather) when traveling, and is ready as soon as you open the tent.

Every Columbus has a polyester and fiberglass base, insulated with 1” (25 cm) of foam sandwich in the bottom shell. The built-in mounting channels are recessed into the bottom, combining mounting flexibility and great strength.
